Review existing holdings to select a testing universe of documents (July - August, 2021)
Target: 5-10 documents for as many event types as possible (Not all collections will have material related to all event types)
Develop workflow for creating event description using the Single Class Model, and to create items for related people and locations (July - August, 2021)
Create Omeka S items related to your selected testing universe (September - December 2021)
For each description session, fill out the testing documentation form:
Summarize the records and identify the item types involved
Estimate the time involved in creating the description
Reflect on the fit of the descriptive properties in the model with the content in the sources
Reflect on the adequacy of workflows and interface support
Reflect on any points of confusion in the process
Reflect on any elements of the content within the sources that is not adequately captured in the model
Other general comments
Monthly, review the source documents and resultant items with the project historian on the team to assess the fitness of the model for representing the content. Historians will complete an assessment form.
Participate in monthly, hour-long Testing Partner meetings
Participate in feedback synthesis and revision planning session (half day, January 2022)
Conduct a second session of testing with the revised model using the same source material (February and April 2022)
Participate in a final review and revision meeting (potentially in-person, a day and a half, May 2022)
