- The Carrs were a family of white enslavers in Albemarle County, Virginia. Family members included Dabney Carr (1743-1773), a lawyer, who married Thomas Jefferson's sister Martha Jefferson Carr (1746-1811). The estate Bentivar is associated with Garland Carr.
