Description

James Francis Queen was born in approximately 1837. He was enslaved at White Marsh when the 1838 sale was being planned. James Francis was the child of Harriett Queen and James Queen and the sibling of Elizabeth Queen, Isaias Queen, Nancy Queen, Mary Ellen Queen Mahoney, Martha Queen and Cesar Queen. James Francis married Adeline and was the father of Elvy Francis, Robert Francis, Laura Francis and Harriet Francis. After Adeline's death, he married Polly. On February 9, 1885, he married Betsy Campbell in Thibodaux, Lafourche, Louisiana. With Betsy, James Francis was the father of Elizabeth Francis, Henry Francis, and Austin Francis. He died in New Orleans on December 23, 1916.
